A total of 657 million people traveled across regions during China's Dragon Boat Festival holiday - Chinese reports

The Dragon Boat Festival holiday has ended in China. According to the Ministry of Transport, the total number of people who traveled across regions throughout the country during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday period (May 31st to June 2nd) was 657 million, with 100,000 people traveling between regions.
The average number of people moving per day was estimated to be 219 million, an increase of 3.0% from the same period last year.
Of this total, railway passenger traffic increased by 2.3% to a total of 47,108,000 people.
The number of road users is expected to increase by 3.14% to 600 million people during the same period.
Many people were traveling, and private car use was relatively high. The average daily traffic volume on expressways nationwide was estimated to be about 40.7 million vehicles, up about 3 percent from the same period last year.
In addition, passenger traffic by waterway totaled 2,881,000, an average of 960,000 people per day. Civil aviation passenger traffic totaled 5,601,000, an average of 1,000 people per day.
The average total was 1,867,000 people.
