Former Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo said on Feibook that "They (People Power) have turned their backs on the people because they have become a self-interested interest group.
"The reason I left this party after serving for 30 years was because I thought, 'No matter how hard I struggle, there is no hope for the presidential election,' and the party looked like a sick forest," he continued.
"If Lee Jae-myung comes to power, we believe there will be a call for the party to be dissolved due to its sympathy with the civil unrest and the forced replacement of candidates," he wrote.
He also said, "With local elections coming up, I think the party may disappear."
"The fact that the last-minute strife by Kim Moon-soo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, was ineffective is not the fault of Lee Jun-seok, the New Reform Party's candidate, or my fault," he emphasized.
He continued, "Wasn't it Lee Jun-seok who framed and forced me out through all sorts of scandals? Weren't they the ones who forced me out through the two 'fraudulent' party primaries?"
"There is no future for interest groups that don't communicate with the public and rely solely on older generations and outdated YouTube channels."
