On the 10th (local time), Ripple announced through a blog that $5 million will be allocated to universities in six countries to train blockchain talent in the APAC region.
The company said it plans to provide new funding to universities in Taiwan and Australia. The funding will be used through the company's University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI).
The funding follows Ripple's donation of $25 million to U.S. education nonprofits last month.
Ripple has raised $1.1 million through a six-year partnership with South Korea's Yonsei University, as well as Japan's Kyoto University and the University of Tokyo.
It has provided $1.5 million to the University of Tokyo and more than $3 million to Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS).
