President Lee: ”Strengthening Korea-Vietnam relations... striving to benefit the lives of the people of both countries”
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said on the 12th that he would "strive to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between South Korea and Vietnam and to make practical contributions to the lives of the people of both countries."
President Lee said on his social media account that afternoon, "I held my first telephone conversation with Vietnamese President Luong Quong this morning. President Quong said, 'I will continue to support the establishment of the Vietnamese government.'"
The Chairman and I have expressed our sincere hope that the relationship between our two countries, which has enjoyed remarkable cooperation in all areas including politics, economy and people-to-people exchanges since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, will continue to develop.
"Vietnam is Korea's third largest trading partner, with about 10,000 Korean companies operating there," he said, adding, "About 4.5 million Korean companies visit Vietnam every year."
"It is an important cooperative partner with over 100,000 Koreans visiting."
