US President Trump spoke about his future cryptocurrency policy plans.
On the 12th (local time), President Trump attended the “State of Cryptocurrency” event hosted by Coinbase.
He participated in the "State of Crypto Summit" event through a video message and revealed his future cryptocurrency policy ideas.
This video is the second official message that President Trump has delivered at a cryptocurrency-related event since taking office in January.
"The government's cryptocurrency policy is not over yet," he said, and he also said that he plans to build a national Bitcoin reserve system at the government level, form a working group dedicated to digital assets, and promote the creation of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) and the Democratic Party of Korea (DPJ).
He emphasized that he has promoted policies through executive orders, such as the appointment of Robert Atkins as chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
"My administration will support the issuance of dollar-based stablecoins," President Trump said.
"We are working with Congress to pass the GENIUS Act, which will provide a clear and simple market structure to enable the United States to lead the future of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin," he said.
The message came as the Senate was about to vote on the GENIUS bill, which would regulate stable coins used for settlement, and as a result, the government issued a cloture (a measure to end debate in the Diet or Congress).
The bill, which would clarify the roles of the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has also passed a standing committee in the House of Representatives.
However, some Democratic lawmakers have expressed concerns about President Trump's ties to the cryptocurrency industry and have warned that they will not be able to include the bill if the relevant provisions are not included.
In particular, he expressed his opposition to World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency platform backed by the presidential family.
The fact that the US Financial Group has issued its own stablecoin has caused controversy. It is said that this coin could be used to pursue Trump's personal interests while he is in office.
This is the second time President Trump has directly targeted crypto voters with a message. He spoke at the Digital Asset Summit in New York City in March.
He also announced his policy vision through a video message at the Digital Asset Summit event, and participated in the Bitcoin 2024 Summit in Nashville.
He has personally attended and spoken at the "2024" event.
