President Lee Jae Myung: ”We will change 'Korean Peninsula risk' to 'Korean Peninsula premium'” = South Korea

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said on the 15th, "We must transform the 'Korean Peninsula risk' into a 'Korean Peninsula premium' and work together to pave the way for a future in which both North and South Korea can coexist."
On the 25th anniversary of the June 15th North-South Joint Declaration, President Lee wrote on Facebook, "We must re-record the promises made 25 years ago today.
"We must restore the peace that has been lost," he wrote. "The June 15th North-South Joint Declaration is a departure point that breaks down the walls of conflict and distrust that have continued for more than half a century and opens the way to a new era of reconciliation and cooperation."
"However, in recent years, the Korean Peninsula has regressed once again to the cold era of the past," he said. Regarding future inter-Korean relations, President Lee said, "The Lee administration will not tolerate attritional hostile acts.
"We will swiftly restore the suspended inter-Korean dialogue channels and restore the crisis management system in order to ease military tensions and create a peaceful atmosphere," he said.
