China's urban unemployment rate falls for third consecutive month, down to 5.0% in May - Chinese media

According to data recently released by the National Bureau of Statistics, the surveyed unemployment rate in urban areas nationwide in May fell 0.1 percentage point from the previous month to 5.0%, marking the third consecutive month of decline.
The unemployment rate in urban areas from January to May this year averaged 5.2%. The employment situation is generally stable.
The surveyed unemployment rate for local registered workers in May was 5.0%, while the surveyed unemployment rate for foreign registered workers was 4.9%.
The unemployment rate in the survey of 31 major cities was 5.0%, down 0.1 percentage point from the previous month. The average weekly working hours for corporate employees nationwide was 48.5 hours.
