”Seoul Ramen” becomes more familiar with the addition of ”Haechi” and goes on sale in new packaging (Korea)
The city of Seoul has partnered with food giant Pulmuone to sell instant noodles called "Seoul Ramen," and has released a new package featuring the city's mascot, "Haechi."
The aim is to increase brand awareness and convey the symbol of Seoul to citizens and tourists in an intuitive and familiar way. Seoul Ramen will be launched in February 2024 under the brand name "Seoul Ramen: What Seoulites Eat."
It was launched under the slogan "Healthy and delicious ramen." In the year and a half since then, sales in Korea and overseas have reached 4.78 million packets.
Not only will the new packaging bring out the best in you, but you can also check product information in real time.
The company has also introduced "Food QR" technology, which allows consumers to check detailed information such as ingredients, nutritional information, storage methods, and packaging materials at a glance through the QR code. It can be purchased at supermarkets, etc.
Pulmuone will also begin selling the product overseas in August 2024 at approximately 100 stores in the United States. It will then export the product to Mexico, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Argentina, and other countries.
Seoul Metropolitan Government's public relations and planning officer Min Su-hoon said of the new packaging, "The symbolism and familiarity that Haechi has for our city will be more clearly conveyed to citizens and tourists."
