China criticizes US ”military support for Taiwan” as ”an attempt to push Taiwan into war”

The Chinese Ministry of National Defense criticized the US military aid and arms sales to Taiwan as an attempt to push Taiwan into war. A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense said at a press conference on the 26th, "Any military cooperation between the US and Taiwan will be unlawful.
"We are also opposed to any actual collusion," he said, emphasizing, "Whether it be military assistance, arms sales, or whatever other justification, this is an attempt by the United States to push Taiwan into war."
Such a statement was made after the U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Committee included a $500 million Taiwan defense budget in the 2026 defense budget.
"The United States must adhere to the one-China principle and stop sending the wrong signal to Taiwanese separatists," the spokesman said.
"We ask for this," he said.
