Number of homes owned by foreigners in South Korea exceeds 100,000
The number of homes in South Korea owned by foreigners has topped 100,000 for the first time, with 56% of them owned by Chinese nationals.

The number of foreign-owned homes in Korea was 98,561, and the number of homes owned by foreigners was calculated to be 100,216. Homes owned by foreigners account for 0.52% of the total number of homes.
Looking at homes owned by foreigners by nationality, Chinese people made up the largest group with 56,301 homes (56.2%).
In addition, the number of homes owned by Chinese people increased by 503 units from six months ago, accounting for 68% of the increase in foreign-owned homes in the second half of last year.
This was followed by Americans with 22,031 homes (21.9%), and Canadians with 6,315 homes (6.3%).
Meanwhile, 72.1% of homes owned by foreigners are concentrated in the capital area. Seoul is home to 23,741 homes (23.7%), while Gyeonggi-do is the largest city.
Gyeonggi Province had 39,144 units (39.1%), and Incheon had 9,983 units (10.0%).
