North Korea criticizes US for Trump's ”conciliatory” gestures

As U.S. President Donald Trump made conciliatory gestures toward North Korea, North Korea criticized the United States through its state-run media.
The Rodong Sinmun, the newspaper of the Workers' Party of Korea, reported on the 29th that "the hostile forces are blaming us for our self-reliance.
"For the last decade or so, they have persisted in their nefarious tactics of blockade sanctions, trying to get China to give up its traditional approach to doing things by force," he said.
He continued, "The hostile forces are going crazy with their schemes for a war of aggression, and are trying to strangle us with the trap of sanctions.
"Even when North Korea tried to take action against us or showed signs of 'easing up' after being surprised by the military strength of our Republic, we have never lowered the flag of self-reliance even for a moment," he emphasized.
He also said, "Armed conflicts are taking place in various regions, including Europe and the Middle East, and the world is falling into instability and chaos because of the United States' aggressive behavior toward other countries.
"The roots of this lie in the banditry-like violation of sovereignty by the Western countries," he said. "When we have a strong force that can protect our national sovereignty and security from the power and tyranny of imperialism, we can create a just and fair country.
"An international order based on this principle will be established."
