Son Sukku's production company Stenom wins Cannes Grand Prix for its first film ”Night Fishing”

Stenom, a film company founded by actor Son Sukku, has achieved a great feat with its inaugural film "Night Fishing," which was produced just one year after the company was founded. "Night Fishing," currently streaming on TVING, is a film starring actor Son Sukku.
The 10-minute sci-fi film was produced and starred in by Sok. It was released in theaters last year under the neologism "Snack Movie" and has garnered a great response from audiences.
"Night Fishing" has won numerous awards at various film and advertising festivals, including the Best Editing Award at the Fantasia International Film Festival and the Best Picture Award at Spikes International Film Festival.
After winning 20 awards, including the Grand Prix at the Asia Festival, Grand Winner at the Clear Awards Festival, and the Gold Award at the AdFest Festival, the company was awarded the 100th Best Advertising Award at the 2019 Asia Festival, the most prestigious advertising festival in the world, on June 17th (local time).
The film won both the Entertainment Grand Prix and Silver Awards at the Cannes Film Festival. In particular, director Moon Byung-gon proved his skills once again with his unique filming technique of shooting from the perspective of a car.
Since becoming the first Korean to win the Palme d'Or in the short film competition category at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013 with his film "Safe," he has swept all the Cannes Film Festivals and advertising festivals both in Korea and abroad.
Stenom's amazing progress is expected to continue. If it is the beginning of a new form of entertainment that breaks the boundaries between film and advertising, the next step will be a US-Korea co-production.
The feature film "Bedboard Park (working title)," planned for global release in 2019, is about a Korean-American woman, Audrey (actor Choi Hee Seo), and a former wrestler, Ilai (actor Song Hye Joon).
Son Sukku previously revealed that she was drawn to the factual and precise script and decided to film the film, especially the typical Asian character in a typical American film.
The film is being produced by Kresnoff/Foster Entertainment (Gary Foster), the producer of "Sleepless Seattle," and B&C Storyboard.
After more than two years of preparation, the film has already been in production since May in New Jersey, with Signifi Comedy Productions, a production company of actor Forrest Fitecauter and actor Chris Lee.
The entire filming has been completed on location at G and is currently in the process of finishing up the sequel. Having already taken its first steps as a production company, Stenom said, "We will continue to actively utilize unconventional formats and approaches,
"I will create a story that is unique to Stenom," he said, showing his determination.
