He also said that he would do his best to prepare for medical students and medical residents to return. The National Association of Medical School Professors issued a statement on the same day, saying, "We will restore trust and take action."
"I deeply sympathize with President Lee's statement that the current situation can be resolved through dialogue and compromise," he said.
"We will do our best to restore the school and hospital systems so that students can return to school and medical residents can find employment at training hospitals."
The Medical School Professors Association said, "The state is not only preparing the various matters necessary for their return,
"I urge the government to work to re-establish healthcare policy governance based on pragmatic principles and to reform the irrational and unfair healthcare system," he said.
He added, "We need dialogue and discussion as soon as possible, so I hope that a vice minister for education will be appointed soon.
"I hope that the entire medical community, including the prefecture, medical students, and medical residents, will work together to fulfill our role as the main body protecting the health and lives of the people," he added.
