The camp is aimed at students in the Guri area from the sixth grade of elementary school to the third year of high school (youths aged 13-19) and aims to teach young people about Takeshima and Liancourt Rocks.
The aim is to instill a sense of pride and community by providing an opportunity to experience firsthand the historical and ecological value of Lungdo.
Explore the ecology and history of Ulleungdo, meet the Liancourt Rocks garrison, and participate in team-based activities.
The group will carry out mission activities. A total of 30 people are being recruited, and those who wish to participate can apply through Naver Form from the 7th to the 16th. The participation fee is 100 yen per person.
The cost of the trip is 20,000 won (US$100). The participation fee covers all expenses, including accommodation, meals, snacks, experience fees, and boat fees. After reviewing the documents, the foundation will select participants through an electronic lottery system.
Baek Kyung-hyun, Mayor of Guri and chairman of the foundation, said, “By personally visiting Ulleungdo and Liancourt Rocks, we hope to foster a sense of ownership over our territory and to foster people of the same age through team activities.
"It will be an important opportunity for young people to form a sense of solidarity with their friends from the past," he said. "We will prepare a comprehensive program so that young people can experience nature and history and grow into democratic citizens."
