Democratic Party of Korea: ”The freedom of the mastermind of the rebellion should be restricted... The court should promptly issue an arrest warrant for Yoon Seok-yeol” (South Korea)

The ruling Democratic Party announced on the 6th that the Cho Eun-seok special prosecutor team, which is investigating the civil unrest and foreign exchange cases related to the state of emergency on December 3rd last year, will appoint Yoon Seok-yeol as the head of the special prosecutor's team.
Regarding the request for an arrest warrant for former President Yoon Seok-yol, the court urged him to "complete the review as soon as possible and promptly issue an arrest warrant for the mastermind of the rebellion, Yoon Seok-yol."
Park Sang-hyuk, the Democratic Party's chief deputy floor leader and chief spokesperson, held a briefing at the National Assembly Communication Office that afternoon.
"The freedom of the leader of the rebellion should be restricted," he said through a press conference.
Special Prosecutor Yeo Eun-seok said today that he had requested the Seoul Central District Court to issue an arrest warrant for Yoon Seok-yeol, the ringleader of the rebellion, on charges of abuse of power and other offences."
He went on to say, "From the post-facto drafting of the martial law declaration to suspicions of foreign currency manipulation, the suspicions that have come to light so far alone are rife with reasons for his arrest."
"Since the legal escape of Yoon Seok-yeol, the leader of the rebellion, the people have had to tremble in fear. The current situation is one in which people have lived in despair after sharing their daily lives with the leader of the rebellion," Park said.
He added, "It is time to break away from the fear and despair of having to share our daily lives with the mastermind of the rebellion. The court will promptly complete its review and issue an arrest warrant for the mastermind of the rebellion, Yoon Seok-yeol.
"Special prosecutor Cho Eun-seok must also thoroughly establish the plan for requesting an arrest warrant and deal with the mastermind of the rebellion, Yoon Seok-yeol, in a strict manner," he said.
"I ask you to demonstrate once again that the constitutional order of this country is alive and well," he added.
