China's industrial capacity utilization rate at 74.0% in second quarter: Chinese report

According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in the second quarter of this year (April-June), the production of industrial enterprises with a national or larger scale (enterprises with annual main operating revenues of 20 million yen or more) increased by 1.2%.
The production capacity utilization rate was 74.0%, down 0.1 percentage points from the first quarter (January to March) and down 0.9 percentage points from the same period last year.
The production capacity utilization rate by the three major sectors was 72.7% for mining, 74.3% for manufacturing, and 74.3% for electricity, heat and power.
The rate of production capacity utilization by major industry was 69.3% for coal mining and cleaning, 69.1% for food manufacturing, 77.8% for textiles, 77.8% for chemical raw materials and chemicals, and 77.7% for chemicals.
71.9% of the products were manufactured in the product manufacturing industry, 62.3% in the non-metallic mineral products industry, 80.8% in the smelting and rolling processing industry of ferrous metals, 77.7% in the smelting and rolling processing industry of non-ferrous metals, 78.3% in the general-purpose equipment manufacturing industry, and 79.2% in the special equipment manufacturing industry.
Equipment manufacturing accounted for 76.5%, automobile manufacturing for 71.3%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing for 73.5%, and computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing for 77.3%.
