Kimura Takuya & 2PM's Taecyeon's Michelin-starred struggle... ”Grand Maison Paris” main teaser released
Kimura Takuya and Ok Taecyeon (2PM) star in the highly anticipated film Grand Maison Paris, which has released its main trailer.

Grand Maison Paris depicts the intense challenges faced by Natsuki Obana, a chef known as the “perennial two-star chef” in Paris, France, as he and his colleagues strive to reach the pinnacle of fine dining. As the sequel to the 2019 drama “Grand Maison Tokyo,” it proved its popularity by attracting 960,000 viewers in its first week of release in Japan. With its intense challenges and cross-border teamwork, it is expected to generate significant buzz in Korea as well.

The main trailer begins with the narration, “There is a Japanese person in Paris, the birthplace of French cuisine, who is taking on an unprecedented challenge,” and shows Chef Natsuki Obana facing the reality of the obstacles he encounters on his way to achieving three Michelin stars. The tagline, “The walls of the world blocking the way,” foreshadows the intense challenges that Natsuki Obana and 'Team Grand Maison' will face in France, stimulating the curiosity of the audience. Hayami Rinko (Kyoka Suzuki), a founding member of the drama Grand Maison Tokyo and a woman with an absolute sense of taste, declares she is leaving the restaurant, hinting at a crisis for the team and heightening tension.

Taecyeon, who plays the role of Korean pastry chef Rick Yuan, also appears in the trailer, heightening expectations. The diverse culinary scenes born from the borderless teamwork of Team Grand Maison, accompanied by the phrase “dedicating one's life to cooking,” stimulate viewers' tastes and promise the birth of a well-crafted gourmet drama that will shine brightly this summer.

The film is directed by Ayuko Tsukahara, who helmed “Unnatural” and “Reprint Success!”, with screenplay contributions from Tsutomu Kuroiwa, the writer behind 'Liar Game' and the 'Kingdom' series, adding to the anticipation. Additionally, Chef Kei Kobayashi of 'Restaurant KEI', the first Asian to earn three Michelin stars in Paris, oversaw the culinary direction, enhancing the realism and quality of the work. The meticulous culinary direction, along with the delicate balance between the gourmet world, character conflicts, and teamwork, has garnered praise not only from fans of the previous work but also from new Japanese audiences.

Amid the current boom in gourmet content in Korea, Grand Maison Paris is set to deliver a delicious emotional experience to audiences with its deep drama and vibrant culinary visuals.

The film Grand Maison Paris, which tells the passionate story of Chef Natsuki Obana as he challenges to become the first Asian to achieve three Michelin stars in the heart of Michelin country, will be released on August 27th at Lotte Cinema.
