From the 8th to the 10th of this month, G-DRAGON's world tour “übermensch” was held at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong.
The issue arose on the final day of the concert. Some fans attended the performance holding signs reading “Bring Seungri (V.I.) back.” These signs were made with LED lights, making them impossible to miss in the dark.
Additionally, some fans held LED signs reading “GD (heart) SR,” combining the initials of G-DRAGON and Seungri.
As soon as G-DRAGON saw the signs, his smile vanished, and he immediately turned away. A video of G-DRAGON avoiding eye contact spread on social media, angering fans.
Not only were LED signs prohibited at the concert, but the demand to bring back a member who had already left the group crossed a line, sparking outrage. “BIGBANG” has been active as a trio since V.I's departure.
In particular, Seungri is the person who caused trouble for the members due to the so-called “Burning Sun incident.” Fans were outraged not only by G-DRAGON mentioning Seungri during his solo concert but also by the excessive demand to bring him back to “BIGBANG.”
G-DRAGON successfully held a concert in Hong Kong, but there were many rumors. In addition to the placards mentioning Seungri, there was an increase in ticket scalping scams ahead of the Hong Kong concert, with over 30 reports of fraud filed with the Hong Kong Police.
Meanwhile, G-DRAGON is holding his third world tour, “G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR ‘übermensch,’” in Asian cities like Jakarta and Hong Kong, as well as in the US cities of Newark, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, and Paris, France, spending time with fans around the world.
