The results of a public opinion poll announced on the 21st showed that South Korean President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating had fallen by 8 percentage points.

According to the National Survey of Representatives (NBS), conducted by four companies, Lee, Korea Research, and Hankook Research, on the 18th to 20th of this month, targeting 1,001 men and women aged 18 and over, President Lee's approval rating was 57% and his disapproval rating was 58%.
Approval was recorded at 33%, down 8 percentage points from the previous survey (two weeks ago), while disapproval rose 9 percentage points.
Meanwhile, the ruling Democratic Party of Korea had 40% support, while the main opposition People Power Party had 19%.
The ruling party's support fell by 4 percentage points from the previous survey (two weeks ago), while the People's Power Party rose by 3 percentage points. This was followed by the New Reform Party (4%), the Fatherland Reform Party (4%), and the Progressive Party (2%).
In addition, 38% of respondents said that the August 15th special pardon and restoration of rights for those eligible were "appropriate," while 54% said that they were "inappropriate."
