South Korea summons man who linked Unification Church to Kim Geon-hee the day after arrest

Special Prosecutor Min Joon-gi's team, which is investigating various allegations related to Kim Gun-hee, wife of former President Yoon Seok-gyul, will be holding a press conference titled "Gongjin" at 2 p.m. on the 22nd.

The charges are arranging bribery under the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes and violation of the Political Funds Act. Other allegations have been raised ahead of the local elections in June 2022.
He is suspected of having received money from various influential people under the pretense of prayer fees, and then conveying requests related to the nomination to "Yoon Haek-gwan (core associates of former President Yoon)" and others.
Suspicions were raised that he had tried to get Rep. Kwon Seong-dong elected as the party leader at the 2023 People Power Party convention.
The content of a related conversation was also made public. In November 2022, Yoon, the former director-general, asked Chung, "What exactly is 'Yoon Shin's intention?'"
Jeong responded, "Yoon Shim is still the same." However, Jeong denies the related charges, saying he never gave any money or goods to her.
The special prosecutors' team will summon Chung today to focus on the details of the exchange of money and goods and whether or not he received political donations.
