「DAY6」Young K、「自らミュージシャンだと自負できる人になりたい」
DAY6's Young K: ”I want to become someone who can be proud of being a musician”
ARENA HOMME+ has released the digital cover of its September issue, featuring DAY6's Young K in collaboration with a watch brand.
Young K, who was carefully looking at the watch on set, said that his first watch was from this brand.
My colleague gave me a watch when he got his first job, and it was my very first watch. Apparently, I started working before him and treated him to lots of meals. It's been a while since I received the watch.
However, recently I adjusted the length of the bracelet. I'm trying my best to wear it." A must-have item at DAY6 concerts is the "Madewatch" penlight. Young
K also proposed the idea of a new collaboration watch with Hamilton. "It's a brand with too many titles. If we were to release a new Made Watch,
This will be the first penlight to be collaborated with a watch brand. In that sense, it will be a very meaningful piece. The first thing that comes to mind is that it would be interesting if the strap was made of leather.
Or, I think a watch with the My Day (fandom name) logo on an existing model would be good."
September 7th marks the 10th anniversary of DAY6's debut.
Although they have grown to become big, DAY6 did not receive the attention they do now from the early days of their debut.
What thoughts did K have as he spent each day? "I always thought, 'I've had so many experiences.'
I often say this. Even when I was a trainee, when I wasn't in the spotlight, or when I was in the military, I never thought about just letting time pass me by. Because once I start wasting my time, I can't stop thinking about it.
I'm the type of person who easily gets lazy. So I tried to do my best every day. I really worked hard. That's the one thing I can be proud of."
K said that even if he had come a long way, he would have ended up singing in the end. Young K said that he wanted to remain a singing person. "A good musician."
No, it's okay if I'm not "good." I want to be remembered as a musician. I may do various activities outside of music in the future, but ultimately, my job is to make music and let people listen to it.
"I think that there will be times when I ask myself, 'Am I not a good musician?' At those times, I want to at least become someone who can be proud of being a musician," he said.
Meanwhile, the full photo shoot and interview can be seen in the September issue of "ARENA HOMME+."
