Singer PSY (real name Park Jae-sang, 48) has been accused of prescribing psychotropic drugs without receiving face-to-face medical treatment, and police have launched an investigation.
According to police, on the 28th, Seoul Seodaemun Police Station filed charges against PSY and Professor A of the university hospital who prescribed the medication on suspicion of violating the Medical Care Act, and is currently investigating the case.

Police have begun investigation procedures, including a search of the hospital to obtain PSY's medical records.
The psychotropic drugs prescribed to PSY are used to treat anxiety and sleep disorders, and in principle, they can only be prescribed after a face-to-face consultation with a doctor, and the patient must receive them themselves.
However, in limited circumstances, proxy collection is permitted, such as by family members or caregivers.
Prescriptions and proxy collection were permitted, but from November 2021, in-person prescriptions were reinstated. In response to this, Psy's management office, Pination, told the media, "COVID-19 virus
"Since the beginning of the spread of COVID-19, I have been prescribed medicine through non-face-to-face consultations, and since then, due to my busy schedule, I have continued to receive prescriptions through non-face-to-face consultations," he said, revealing that "there was an aspect of being too careless."
Furthermore, the company stated, "PSY has not been prescribed medication under the name of another person, and he has not overdosed on this medication or used it for any purpose other than its intended purpose."
