Our Home develops plastic bags that decompose at room temperature (Korea)

Our Home, a major Korean food service company, announced that it has developed two environmentally friendly plastic products and introduced them to food service and restaurant establishments nationwide.
The products developed are natural biodegradable plastic bags and recycled PE (polyethylene) garbage bags.
While the currently widely used biodegradable biomass plastic polylactic acid (PLA) only decomposes under high temperature and pressure, biodegradable plastic bags decompose naturally at temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees.
It has the characteristic of being easily decomposable. Because it is made from by-products such as corn and potatoes, it is a different beige color from regular plastic bags and has a unique fragrant smell.
It has been certified "OK Compost HOME" by the certification body TUV AUSTRIA, certifying that it can be composted in a home composting facility.
On the other hand, recycled PE garbage bags use recycled PE made from recycled plastic instead of existing non-recycled materials, increasing the proportion of recycled materials to 80%.
The company has increased its PE content to 0%. Recycled PE is made by collecting and reusing discarded PE products, and is expected to contribute to reducing the waste of disposable plastics and carbon emissions.
