Busan International Comedy Festival kicks off...opening performance sold out

The curtains have risen on the 13th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF).

BICF kicked off with an opening performance at the BEXCO Auditorium in Busan at 7 PM on the 29th.

The approximately 2,700-seat venue for the opening performance was sold out, demonstrating the high level of interest in BICF. The opening performance featured a special stage performance by the 'Gag Concert' team, with comedians Park Myung-soo, Lalal, singer Yoon Soo-il, and the international performance team Bunktopia all interacting with the audience.

The Comedy YouTube Grand Prize ceremony also took place at the venue that day. The award, presented to the comedy content channel that received the most love this year, was presented by Organizing Committee Chairman Park Hyun-jun. The prestigious Grand Prize went to Lalal.

At the end of the opening performance, all performers came on stage and shouted the BICF catchphrase, "Busan Sea! Sea of ​​Laughter!", to which the audience responded with applause and cheers.

BICF will begin its theater run across Busan from the 30th and will run until September 7th.
