Singer Lim Young Woong's appearance on KBS's "Immortal Masterpiece" has led to a huge surge in viewership ratings, proving the "Lim Young Woong effect."
The 720th episode of KBS's "Immortal Masterpiece" aired on the 30th, and featured artist Lim Young Woong and his fellow musicians, Nobrain.
The first part of the show featured Rain, Jung Jeong-hyuk, Lee Juck, and others, and included candid talk that revealed the real Lim Young Woong.
The nationwide viewership rating recorded 6.8% according to Nielsen Korea, an increase of 2.5 points from the previous week, making it the top-rated show in its time slot.
This is Lim Young Woong's first appearance on "Immortal Masterpiece" in five years since the "Songhae Music Festival" special. He kicked off the show with a bang with the opening song "Rainbow."
This special was personally handled by Lim Young Woong himself, from casting the performers to selecting the music.
Youngwoong said, "I thought it would be fun to create a diverse stage with my favorite friends, so I suggested it to the staff myself."
"Lim Young Woong's song 'I'm Yours' was performed for the first time and attracted a lot of attention. He introduced it as, "A song that contains the importance and beauty of ordinary daily life." The second part of "Yeongwoong and Friends" is scheduled to air on September 6th at 6:05 PM, and there will be no reruns or VODSTREAM, so it can only be viewed on the original broadcast.
