However, with the support of a Chinese entertainment company, they are preparing for their activities. "B:MY BOYS" is a program that depicts the process of selecting members for the debut of a new boy group.
It was broadcast on SBS from 2019 to the 30th of last month, and also met with viewers through various OTT platforms such as Netflix, ABEMA, weTV, and RakutenVIKI.
After four months of fierce competition, eight people including Hyo, Lee Yong Tae, Moon Jae Il, Kim Bo Hyun, Kai, Kang Jun Sung, Park Se Chan, and Haruto were chosen based on the results of the viewers' votes.
They all got the chance to debut. Among the members, Hyo, Kai, and Haruto are former members in Japan. Member Kang Junseong was at the Seoul Somerset Stadium at 4pm on the 1st.
At the press conference held on the first floor, he said, "I'm happy and delighted that the survival challenge has had a happy ending. I'm grateful to the people who made us." He added, "From now on, we will work hard as 'YU'."
HZ', Hyoh, who debuted as a member with the No. 1 ranking, said, "I'm grateful to all the K-POP fans around the world who supported me. My family was proud to see me get No. 1.
I was happy that they said it was like me," he said, and resolved to "work hard to show a more mature side of myself from now on."
YUHZ will pre-debut in October and aim to officially debut in January of next year.
The project has been running for about five years. The team name "YUHZ" is an abbreviation of "Your Hertz." "We want to bring together the chaotic vibrations of the world and connect them into one vibration."
The program contains a hopeful message: "Singing with the various voices of the people." Hyo said, "Through the program, I was able to complete many missions, and through that process, I learned how to approach the stage."
"It will be a great weapon for YUHZ," he said, confidently saying, "They will show off their talents as soon as they debut." [Korean and Chinese entertainment companies join forces to ensure YUHZ's success]
The management and promotion of "YUHZ" will be handled jointly by South Korea's Pinnacle Entertainment and China's Lucky Door. The two companies announced on this day that they had signed a joint venture worth approximately 30 billion won (approximately 3 billion yen).
Pinnacle Entertainment has signed a strategic partnership with SM Entertainment to help grow YUHZ into a global idol group.
It is a new entertainment company led by CEO Park Kwon-young, who previously served as CEO of G. It planned and produced "B:MY BOYS" together with SBS.
CEO Park Kwon-young said, "We gathered key figures in the industry and established the company for 'B:MY BOYS'," and added, "'YUHZ'
He continued, "From now on, we will be working on a full-scale project with Lucky Door, including albums and TV series productions."
Lucky Door is collaborating with global record companies such as Sony, BMG, and Universal in China to release music by Michael Jackson, Whitney, and other artists.
The company represents the music rights of global pop stars such as Jay-Z, Celebrity Net Worth, and Britney Spears, and also hosted BIGBANG's China performance on their world tour.
The barrier to Chinese activities remains the "Korean ban." Prior to this, in July 2016, China imposed the "Korean ban" as a retaliatory measure against the US decision to deploy THADD (Terminal High Altitude Area Disaster Prevention) systems in South Korea.
The Korean Wave content ban was implemented. This meant that Korean K-Pop idols could no longer hold concerts in Korea. Even now, small events such as fan meetings and fan autograph sessions are not held.
Park Kwon-young, the company's CEO, said, "The 'Korean ban' is something we can't do anything about," and added, "First of all, we will focus on fan meetings, acting, and modeling activities."
"Lucky Door also has strengths in acting, and we plan to continue our ongoing cooperation by helping the members of YUHZ debut as actors," the company said.
