Actress Lee Min Jeon has sparked controversy after taking a photo in front of Jesus Christ, but she has since explained that the location was not a church.
Recently, Lee Min Jeon announced that the movie "Can't Be Helped," starring her husband, actor Lee Byung Hun, has been released.
As soon as the film was selected for the competition section of the 2015 Venice International Film Festival, she accompanied her husband to Venice. She also spent time with actress Song Yejin, who also starred in the film, there.
It was revealed that Lee Min Jeong had spent some time with her husband. She uploaded related photos to social media and shared them with her fans. The problem was that Lee Min Jeong had been acting like a saint.
The photo was taken at what appears to be the altar of the temple, with Jesus Christ on the cross in the background. This photo was taken by Song Yeji-in, and Lee Min-jeong was wearing a high-end bra.
She posed to show off her bag, as if to advertise a branded bag. Some netizens responded by saying that taking such a photo in a sacred space is thoughtless and disrespectful.
As various opinions for and against were exchanged, Lee Min Jeon also spoke out. However, he explained that contrary to popular belief, this was not actually a cathedral but a restaurant in a hotel.
She revealed, "This is not a cathedral, but a venue and restaurant that has been used as a hotel, making use of all the walls that were once a cathedral hundreds of years ago."
He continued, "I am a Christian, not a Catholic, but I apologize if I caused any inconvenience by going up to the altar and taking photos.
"There is no problem," he said, adding, "We will be more careful in the future and check things more carefully."
