Of this, exports increased by 15.3% to 1,998.3 billion former (approximately 41.5 trillion yen), and imports increased by 3.3% to 2,579.86 billion former (approximately 53.6 trillion yen).
The trade deficit in services was 581.56 billion former (approximately 12 trillion yen), down 183.62 billion former (approximately 3.8 trillion yen) from the same period last year.
Trade in knowledge-intensive services continued to grow. Exports and imports of knowledge-intensive services during the same period increased by 6.8% to 1.775 trillion yen.
Of this, exports increased by 8.6% to 1,253.3 billion formers (approximately 21.3 trillion yen), and imports increased by 4.6% to 750.27 billion formers (approximately 15.6 trillion yen).
The profit was 275.06 billion yen (approximately 5.7 trillion yen), an increase of 48.27 billion yen (approximately 1 trillion yen) from the same period last year.
Within the knowledge-intensive services trade, the import and export scale of other commercial services and electronic, computer and information services is relatively large.
The respective import and export values increased by 3.4% to 750.97 billion former (approximately 15.6 trillion yen) and 12.6% to 626.8 billion former (approximately 13 trillion yen).
Trade in travel services showed the highest growth. During the same period, travel services continued to grow rapidly, with imports and exports increasing by 10.4% to 1,259.46 billion yen (approximately 26.2 trillion yen).
Of this, exports increased by 62.9% and imports by 3.9%.
