China's electricity market trading volume increased 7.0% year-on-year in January-August: Chinese report

According to the National Energy Administration, the amount of electricity traded in the national electricity market from January to August this year increased by 7.0% compared to the same period last year to 4,344.2 billion kilowatt hours.
Looking at the scope of transactions, the amount of electricity traded within the same province (city, district) increased by 6.3% to 3,314.8 billion kWh, while transactions with other provinces (cities, districts) increased by 1.3% to 3,314.8 billion kWh.
The amount of electricity drawn increased by 9.4% to 1,029.4 billion kilowatt-hours. By type of transaction, the amount of green electricity traded increased by 43.3% to 205 billion kilowatt-hours.
Meanwhile, the amount of electricity traded in the national electricity market in August was 655 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 11.6% compared to the same month last year.
The amount of electricity drawn increased by 11.0% to 485.9 billion kWh, and the amount of electricity traded with other provinces (cities, districts) increased by 13.4% to 169.1 billion kWh. In addition, the amount of green electricity traded increased by 47.2% to 169.1 billion kWh.
