”Bruises all over her body” - Naeun's mother brings her dead daughter to the hospital... insists she's still alive = South Korea
A mother in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of abandonment resulting in death after bringing her teenage daughter to the hospital in Gyeongnam with bruises all over her body.
According to the Gyeongnam National Police Agency on the 2nd, suspect A was arrested at his residence in Namhae County at around 4:37 pm on the 22nd of last month.
He is suspected of assaulting and killing his teenage daughter, Ms. B, at their residence. On the day of the incident, Suspect A drove Ms. B to the emergency room of a hospital in Namhae County. Medical staff found that Ms. B had rashes all over her body.
The police were called as bruises and injuries made the suspect suspicious of a crime. At the time, Suspect A reportedly claimed that his daughter was not dead.
When Mr. B arrived at the hospital emergency room, he was found not breathing or having a pulse and was deceased.
On the 1st of this month, on JTBC's "Incident Team Leader," a hospital official explained the situation at the time. The official said, "When (the mother) brought her daughter (in her car) to the emergency room, (the daughter) was already dead.
"Her body was completely limp," he said. "Perhaps because she was mentally anxious, she kept protesting to us and the doctors, saying, 'Why are you saying my daughter is dead when she's still alive?'
The police made an emergency arrest of suspect A at around 3:25 a.m. the following day, and arrested him on the suspicion that he had assaulted his daughter and caused her death on the 25th of last month.
However, suspect A said, "I didn't think my daughter would be in such a bad condition. I came to the car after work and found her unconscious, so I took her to the hospital."
In relation to this, psychology professor Park Sang-hee said, "Even though they heard that he had died, they are not acknowledging it and are instead causing a commotion and protesting. There are two possibilities to consider."
Professor Park said, "The first is psychological denial. He abused and hit his daughter, but that doesn't mean he doesn't love her. He takes out his anger on her emotionally and can't accept reality.
"There is a possibility that the person is shocked and feels guilty and anxious," he explained. "The second possibility is that the person actually knows everything, but takes excessive action to cover up their own crime."
It is possible that the suspect, who lives in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, visited Namhae County with his daughter on the 21st of this month.
Suspect A was visiting Nankai with his daughter to help with a firefighting training event hosted by the Nankai Fire Department. However, CCTV footage from the event venue on the day before the incident showed that during the night
The only thing that was visible on the video was Suspect A wandering around, but his daughter who had come with him was not visible. It is believed that the girl was left in the car with severe injuries while Suspect A was at work.
The police plan to investigate suspect A to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
