The episode of JTBC's "Case Leader" aired on the 9th featured a man who runs a BBQ restaurant in the capital area of South Korea.
The case of Mr. A, a restaurant owner, was reported. According to the case, seven Chinese customers entered Mr. A's restaurant at around 9:30 pm on the 6th, during the mid-autumn celebration holiday. One of the staff members greeted the customers in the dining area.
A was in the kitchen. Two of the group sat at the window seats and boldly took out cigarettes and started smoking. A said, "You can't smoke here. No smoking."
However, the two refused, saying, "We are Chinese." Some customers hid cigarettes under the table while smoking, spat on the floor, and pressed cigarettes on the table.
They even tried to put out their cigarettes, and when one of them told them to stop smoking, the group finally dropped the ashes on the floor.
Mr. A said, "It was closing time, so I thought the smell of cigarettes was coming in from outside.
"But when I happened to look into the hall, I saw the men smoking at their seats," he said. "They hadn't even put out the cigarettes with their feet. When I looked at the floor, there were cigarette butts and a lot of spit on it."
" This was not the only nuisance caused by the Chinese customers. The group left the restaurant 30 minutes after closing time and even urinated in the toilet. They even broke the toilet lid.
"When I went to the toilet, I saw urine all the way to the hallway," said A. "The staff washed the rag three or four times and wiped it down. I can't believe they were using such unreasonable staff labor.
"I was angry that they were using it on other people," he said, expressing his anger. "Only Chinese customers were left in the restaurant. The toilet was not broken until the group arrived," he said. "People of any country can use it on other people.
"There are cases where people drink alcohol and make mistakes, but cases like this are really hard to understand," he said. Meanwhile, nuisance behavior by Chinese tourists was also witnessed on Cheju Island. Recently, social media has been reporting:
A post titled "Koreans at Jeju Yongmeori Beach" was published. The post's creator, Mr. B, wrote a shocking message: "I went to Yongmeori Beach and saw a woman making her child defecate there."
According to B, the woman left the scene without cleaning up the wet tissues and feces. B said, "I asked the guide, and she said that the woman was a member of a group of Korean and Chinese people.
The photo posted by B shows a woman squatting on the beach, holding a child and letting him relieve himself.
