Son Ye-Jin and Hyun Binnominated for Best Actor at the Blue Dragon Film Awards... Will the couple win together?
Actor Hyun Bin and actress Son Ye-jin, husband and wife, have drawn attention by being named among the nominees for Best Actor and Best Actress at this year's Blue Dragon Film Awards.

The organisers of the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards announced on the 21st that they had finalised the nominees for each category through expert panel and initial online user voting conducted from the 1st to the 19th.

The announcement covers a total of 15 categories, excluding the Most Audience Award and the Jung Jong-won Popular Star Award: Best Picture, Best Director, Best New Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best New Actor, Best New Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Music, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, and Best Technical Achievement.

Particularly noteworthy on this year's Blue Dragon Film Awards nominee list is the inclusion of Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, who are both nominated in the Leading Actor and Leading Actress categories respectively.

Hyun Bin is nominated for Leading Actor for his portrayal of Ahn Jung-geun in the film 'Harbin', while Son Ye-jin is nominated for Leading Actress for her role as Miri in the film 'No Other Choice'.

Hyun Bin will compete for the trophy this year against Lee Byung-hun for 'It Can't Be Helped', Park Jung-min for 'Face', Sol Kyung-gu for 'Ordinary Family', and Cho Jung-seok for 'My Daughter, My Zombie'.

Song Hye-kyo is nominated for her role as the Black Nun in ‘The Black Nuns’, Lee Jae-in for Hi.5, Lee Hae-young for The Fallen’, and Yuna (of Girls' Generation) for ‘The Devil Has Moved In’.

Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin first crossed paths in the film The Negotiation, developing a romantic relationship through the drama Crash Landing on You. The couple married in March 2022 and welcomed a son in November of the same year. While Hyun Bin met audiences earlier this year with ‘Harbin’ in March 2023, Son Ye-jin returned to the big screen after seven years with ‘No Other Choice’ in September last year, meeting theatre audiences.

Amidst anticipation over whether the couple will attend the Blue Dragon Film Awards together, interest is also focused on whether they might even win awards together. Given the exceptionally strong competition, a joint win seems unlikely, but the couple's very attendance at the ceremony as nominees is expected to be the biggest talking point.

Meanwhile, at this year's Blue Dragon Film Awards, Park Chan-wook's "It's Okay" has received the most nominations across 12 categories, including the top prize for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Lee Byung-hun), and Best Actress (Song Hye-kyo), making the award results highly anticipated.
