Director Lee Sang-I’ll of the film ”National Treasure” visits Seoul after Busan... Surprise visit to Korea on November 12th
Director Lee Sang-il, whose live-action film hit 'National Treasure' shook the Japanese archipelago and stands as this autumn's most anticipated release, will visit Seoul, South Korea in November. This marks his first visit to the city in approximately two months, following his trip to Busan in September.

The film ‘National Treasure’ depicts the once-in-a-lifetime story of two men who had to surpass each other to reach the pinnacle of the Kabuki world. Director Lee Sang-il of ‘National Treasure’ will visit Seoul from 12th November, undertaking a diverse promotional schedule including an official press conference on the 13th, media interviews on the 14th, and a premiere GV (audience dialogue).

In response, Director Lee Sang-il conveyed greetings to Korean film fans: "Hello. I am Lee Sang-il, the director of the film 'National Treasure'. I had the brief opportunity to greet you at the Busan International Film Festival, and I will be visiting Seoul again to coincide with the Korean theatrical release on 19th November. I look forward to meeting you through various media in Korea and hope to meet many of you in person soon. The film 'National Treasure' is a passionate chronicle spanning nearly half a century, following men who dedicated their lives to art. Thankfully, it drew 10 million viewers in Japan, and I hope this momentum and enthusiasm will carry through to Korea. Let's meet in Seoul this November. Thank you."

Meanwhile, ‘National Treasure’, directed by Lee Sang-il, a Korean-Japanese filmmaker, was invited to both the Cannes International Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival. In Japan, it surpassed 10 million cumulative viewers within 102 days of release, achieving box office revenues of ¥16.4 billion (approximately ₩154.4 billion). This marks the second live-action Japanese film to reach the 10 million admissions milestone, achieving the highest box office record this year following ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train’.

The passionate film ‘National Treasure’, directed by Lee Sang-il and which changed the history of Japanese cinema, will be released in cinemas nationwide in South Korea on 19th November.
