China's air transport volume 'steadily increasing' in January-September, total volume up 10.3% - Chinese report

The Civil Aviation Administration of China announced on the 22nd that civil aviation operations were generally stable in the first three quarters of this year (January to September), with traffic volumes steadily increasing.
Total civil aviation traffic from January to September was 122.03 billion ton-kilometers, up 10.3% from the same period last year. Of this, passenger traffic increased 5.2%.
During the same period, the number of flights reached 4.88 million, and the average number of flights per day increased by 5% to 1.395 million.
The number of flights was 18,000. The normal flight rate was 89.7%, up 5.2 percentage points. Meanwhile, the operational characteristics of the third quarter (July-September) were as follows:
Shipping volumes showed growth overall. Total shipping volumes for July-September rose 12.4% year-on-year to 43.68 billion ton-kilometers.
The number of flights was 1,722,000, with an average of 19,000 flights per day, an increase of 3.3%. In particular, during the "Summer Special Transportation System" operation period (July 1st to August 31st),
Monthly transport volume in July was 1.48 million ton-kilometers, and in August it was 15.18 billion ton-kilometers, breaking records for two consecutive months. Passenger transport volume maintained a growth trend. Passenger transport volume for the same period increased by 3.5%.
The total number of passengers transported during the "Summer Train" period exceeded 70 million for the second consecutive month.
Demand for freight transport continued to grow. The volume of freight and mail transported during the same period increased by 12%.
The volume of international air cargo and mail shipments has maintained double-digit growth since the beginning of the year.
