South Korea launches taxi calling app for foreigners in Gyeongju to enhance convenience
Inavi Mobility, a subsidiary of Thinkware, which develops in-car navigation systems, is a mobility business that has developed a taxi calling app for foreigners called "Inavi M"
The company has started offering "APEC Taxi." Users can start using the app and call a taxi with just a simple procedure, including smartphone number authentication. The app also has a calling function.
By uploading the information, users can contact counselors by phone. The map is provided by Google Maps and the user interface (UI) is easy to understand, making it easy for foreigners to use.
In addition to providing this app, Inavi Mobility is also working with taxi operators and visitors in the Gyeongju area, who are about to host the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed to enhance convenience. A taxi operator in the Gyeongju area said, "Our goal is to be able to respond to 100% of calls from foreigners.
Another business owner said, "We will not only call taxis but also provide tourist information and other support to foreigners visiting Gyeongju during the APEC period."
"We hope to provide these services and raise awareness of the city as one of Korea's leading tourist destinations."
