”Fraud against the public”... Actor Kim Soo Hyun's lawyer claims that documents related to the late actress Kim Sae Ron were fabricated

The legal representative for actor Kim Soo-hyun has claimed that materials related to the late actress Kim Se-ron were fabricated.

On the 27th (today), Attorney Ko Sang-rok of the law firm Peel, acting as Kim Soo-hyun's legal agent, asserted via his YouTube channel that materials disclosed by the bereaved family—including contents from the late Kim Se-ron's KakaoTalk—were fabricated.

　Attorney Ko stated, "This incident began with a false draft statement found in KakaoTalk messages sent by the late Kim Se-ron to an acquaintance in March 2024. These false claims persisted until 30th September this year, seven months later. After we raised counterarguments, there has been near silence for nearly a month."

　Regarding the selfie showing Kim Su-hyun and the late Kim Se-ron with their faces close together, he stated, "This photograph was taken in February 2020, when Kim Se-ron was a second-year university student," adding, "The statement claimed it was taken in 2016, during her first year of high school."

Furthermore, Attorney Ko pointed out, "Photographs taken after Kim Se-ron had reached adulthood were manipulated to appear as evidence of a relationship during her minor years. They were distorted by being placed side-by-side with postcards sent during the relationship after adulthood."

He further asserted evidence fabrication, stating, "Kim Se-wi altered the sender's name and profile picture in the chat logs to Kim Soo-hyun's real name and face, then falsified this as an original conversation to conduct press conferences and television programmes."

　Finally, Attorney Ko stated, "This constitutes an extremely malicious and organised character assassination, while simultaneously being a nationwide fraud crime targeting the entire populace," reiterating that Kim Se-hyun is an innocent victim.

Meanwhile, the bereaved family of the late Kim Se-ron claimed Kim Se-hyun had been in a relationship with the deceased since she was a minor. Kim Soo-hyun's side countered this, filing a 12 billion won (approximately ¥1.2 billion) damages lawsuit against the bereaved family and the Karo Seron Institute.

In response, Kim Soo-hyun's side launched a full-scale rebuttal against the allegations of a relationship during the late Kim Se-ron's minor years, including the partial disclosure of letters he actually sent to his girlfriend during his military service.
