BTS's RM teases, ”We'll try new genres we've never tried before”... Fans speculate on rock, techno, and trot

BTS leader RM teased that the group will showcase a new genre they have never tried before in their 2026 comeback album, raising expectations among fans around the world.
On the 13th, during a live stream on the fan community "Weverse," RM said, "The new album will include a variety of genres, including genres we've never tried before. Please look forward to it."
He continued, "At first, there were a lot of concerns, but things are now being sorted out and things are changing in a good direction," showing his confidence in the album's work.
After RM's statement, fans on "X" (formerly Twitter) made various speculations about new genres that "BTS" could try. One fan wrote, "
"Do you guys like when I sing rock?", pointing to the possibility of a rock genre. Another fan added,
"What if it's trot?" he said, responding with humor, especially in relation to the time he spent working in Los Angeles, which RM mentioned during the live performance.
However, some fans predicted electronic music genres like techno or house. RM also mentioned the Grammy Awards during the concert. "We wanted to win the Grammys, so we're going to do it," he said.
