Hong Kyung of the film ”Concrete Market”: ”I was inspired by actors of my age”
The press preview of the movie "Concrete Market" was held on the afternoon of the 1st at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Jamsil, Seoul. Actors Lee Jae-in, Hong Kyung,
Jung Man-sik, Yoo Soo-bin, and director Hong Ki-won attended the press conference. The story is about a group of survivors who, after a major earthquake, create a market in the only remaining apartment building.
The story depicts the unfolding of a series of events as the two men begin to trade in their own ways to secure a profit. Hong Kyung sacrifices his life to show his loyalty to Chairman Park, the market's powerful leader, and is rewarded by the merchants in the market.
He plays the role of Kim Tae-jin, who receives and delivers canned goods every day. While pursuing Hiro, who is hiding in the market, Tae-jin is offered a dangerous deal and is forced to choose between trust and suspicion.
The key is their acting to portray the inner conflict they face in the situation. Above all, the story of their struggle and growth as independent actors who have yet to build a career in film is drawing attention.
Hong Kyung said, "I shot this a long time ago when I was less experienced than I am now, but I'm not sure if I'm the same age as the person I'm shooting for.
I was inspired by working with various actors, including the actors and senior actor Jung Man-sik.
He put in a lot of effort and expressed himself in various ways. I hope that this message is conveyed well through the film."
Next, regarding Jung Man-sik, who played the villain, he said, "How good is your senior?
Even in such a work, I try to act in a way that conveys persuasiveness, whether good or evil. I felt and learned a lot while working with him this time."
Regarding his character, he said, "I want to portray Taejin's weakness and vulnerability in extreme situations.
The film will be available to watch in cinemas across Korea from the 3rd.
