Song Joong Ki performs in North Korean dialect for the first time in Netflix's ”Ro Giwan”... ”I wanted to be fresh”

Actor Song Joong Ki, who returned with the Netflix movie "Ro Giwan," shared his thoughts and feelings about trying to act in the North Korean dialect for the first time since his debut.

He played the role of Giwan, a North Korean defector who arrived in Belgium with his mother's will in his heart and in search of his last hope in life, and showed a deep emotional performance. In the play, Giwan risks his life to escape from China to find his last chance.
After arriving in Belgium with high hopes, he constantly proves his existence and struggles to have his status recognized as a refugee. Mari (Choi), a woman who lost her reason for life in this process.
When they meet Sung-woong, they feel the same way, and while comforting each other, they fall in love. Song Joong Ki asked, ``Among the works I've appeared in so far, have you ever used dialect from beginning to end?''
When asked by MC Lee Geum Hee, he answered, ``It was my first time.It's something I wanted to try out as an actor who is lacking.'' He said, ``I just realized that (the scenario for this movie) was new.
, I also wanted to be fresh. (North Korea's language) was an interesting experiment for me, and I'm very satisfied with it."
Director Kim Hee-jin, whose feature film debut is ``Ro Gi-wan,'' is the first to be cast for this work.
He wrote the scenario with Song Joong Ki in mind. Director Kim Hee-jin said, ``I think of Ro Ki-wan as a strong-willed person who blooms even in the midst of turmoil, so I had Song Joong Ki in mind.''
He recalled, ``I was moved when Song Joong Ki willingly told me that he would become Ro Kiwan.''

It's warm and I want to hug you, and it's cold and creepy. On the other hand, "Ro Giwan" is about Giwan, a North Korean defector who arrived in Belgium with his last hope in life, and Ma, a woman who has lost her reason for living.
It is a human TV series that depicts the story of two people who are drawn to each other and become addicted to each other. It will be released worldwide on Netflix on March 1st.
