Jung Yong Hwa of the Korean band CNBLUE and TAKUYA (CROSS GENE) of the Japanese band UVERworld expressed their deep love for live performances.
At 4:30 pm on the 26th, CNBLUE and UVERworld will hold a joint concert "UVERworld & CNBLUE SUMMER LIVE IN
The interview was held in commemoration of the "JAPAN and KOREA 'UNLIMITED CHALLENGE'" in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The interview took place at the FNC building located in Seoul. The interview featured CNBLUE vocalist Jung Yong Hwa and UVERworld vocalist
TAKUYA (CROSS GENE) and SHINTARO from the TV series participated. TAKUYA (CROSS GENE) said about the reason for performing at Nissan Stadium in July last year, "We had to cancel the performance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
When we thought about where we would perform after the pandemic ended, we wanted to perform loudly together with our fans who hadn't been able to see us perform for a long time.
"The only way to do that was to go to a stadium," he said. "A normal concert venue can hold about 10,000 people, but we were unable to enter the venue for a live concert.
"We had 10,000 fans. I think the significance of a stadium concert is that we can welcome all of those fans and perform for 140,000 people."
Jung Yong Hwa said, "Large stadiums are great. I've always wanted to perform at the Tokyo Dome, and I thought I'd see it before I performed there.
I thought. By the way, I had to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I often imagined myself standing there while watching the stage, and it made me sick.
There's a band boom going on these days, so I'm starting to feel confident that I could do it again."
Meanwhile, TAKUYA (CROSS GENE) said that while large venues are nice, he is happy performing at small venues as well.
He confessed, "I really love performing. I still have the same joyful spirit I had when I was an indie band and traveled around performing on my own."
Jung Yong Hwa then said, "Actually, after we finished performing at the stadiums, I thought we would only do big concerts. But that wasn't the case.
Looking at UVERworld, more than half of their yearly schedule is spent performing. I was envious of the fact that they have so many venues to perform at.
There must be a wide variety of options in terms of scale, and I hope that there will be more venues like this in Korea.
In fact, there are only a limited number of venues in Korea and the competition to decide on schedules is not to be underestimated."
He continued, "When I wasn't thinking about finances, I also wanted to build a venue. Now I want to rent a venue and perform there, but back then, I wanted to build a venue and perform there.
"CNBLUE" and "UVERworld" will hold a live concert at 6 pm on the 27th at Korea University in Seoul.
They held a joint concert "UNLIMITED CHALLENGE" at Hwajeong Gymnasium and met fans from both Korea and Japan.
