Actor Jo In Sung, actresses Han JIMIN and Chun Woo Hee, and screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung, among others, participated in the "Love Charcoal Sharing Volunteer" event again this year.
On December 7th, Gilpo, a volunteer organization for broadcasting, film, and theater professionals, and the international relief organization Korea JTS, Inc., conducted a volunteer project for people in Gangnam, Seoul, who are struggling with lack of heating during the winter.
We provided charcoal briquettes to the residents of Kowloon Village in the district. The participants included Ms. Noh Hee Kyung, Jo In Sung, Han Jimin, Chun Woo Hee, Kim Byeong Ok, Lee Sang Hee,
145 people, including Jo Hye-Jung and Baek Seung-do, passed the briquettes from hand to hand and spent a meaningful time.
They donated a total of 3,600 charcoal briquettes to 15 households and completed the delivery.
The celebrities who participated that day commented, "We hope that the little hearts we've shared today will help you spend a warm and cozy winter."
Noh Hee Kyung said, "I'm grateful that we can come together and offer our help.
"More than anything, it was great to share the charcoal briquettes, which conveyed warmth. I want to make sure I never forget the feelings I had today," he said, revealing his intention to continue holding the event every year.
The end-of-year charcoal sharing service of “Kilbok” started in 2021 and this year marks the fourth time. In addition, “Kilbok” has been holding the Myeongdo Charcoal Sharing Service on Children’s Day every year since 2004.
We are continuing to support the starving children of the Earth through our JTS street fundraising campaign in Myeong-dong.
