SHINee's Onew releases photo shoot and interview... Meeting with soprano Cho Sumi: ”I participated because it's a genre I've never done before”

The magazine "Singles" has released a fashion photo of Onew, who will release his 4th mini album "CONNECTION" on January 6th next year and tease his activities as a solo artist.
In the interview, Onew repeatedly emphasized the keyword "challenge" and talked about his thoughts on the new challenge.
Onew said, "This is a Christmas performance project with (soprano singer) Jo Sumi.
"I participated because it was an opportunity to perform a genre of music that I have never done before," he said, sharing his thoughts about participating in Jo Sumi's concert.
He continued, "Ever since I was little, I've enjoyed trying things that other people haven't done," revealing his excitement about taking on a new genre.
Onew said that he thinks now is the hottest moment for him, saying, "I've recently started performing at festivals, and the atmosphere there is like the atmosphere I've always performed in.
It's a different space from the one I've been to before. There may be some people who don't know me. There was something about seeing the audience singing together on that stage, interacting with each other and having fun.
I felt the heat rising. It makes me happy to see that." In response to the editor's comment that there were many scenes during the performance where the members exchanged greetings with the audience, Onew said, "It's small.
"You might think it's a trivial thing, but when the audience greets each other, you can see the atmosphere lighten up," he said, expressing his honest feelings about greeting and communicating with fans.
Onew said that he has been taking a lot of photos this year as part of his new challenge, and said, "I didn't really enjoy taking photos before.
Unlike singing on stage, you have to think about different points.
But for now, I thought it would be great to show as much of the situation as I could and capture some beautiful moments within it.
I thought creating new visuals would also be a useful experience for me."
Onew, who is set to release an album on January 6, 2025, said, "My desire to take on new challenges next year has not changed.
I don't think I'll be able to do that. I'm also thinking about doing a concert. I'll also try to make an effort to meet with my fans more frequently," he said, revealing his plans for the new year.
