On the 23rd, a YouTube channel called “Fairy Jaehyun” posted, “BTS members are discharging one by one...Hope, you have a plan for everything, right?
A video of "Fairy's Dining Table" in which J-HOPE appeared as a guest was uploaded under the title "Right?"
On this day, J-HOPE talked about spending a month in Los Angeles after his discharge last year, saying, "I was thinking about going to America even before I enlisted.
"After I discharged, I wanted to go to America, study a little, and then blend into the culture there and work."
He continued, "However, when the discharge date approached, it was practically impossible.
There were things that needed to be done and there were times that needed to be kept precisely. So I decided to stay for about a month and then 'prepare for my return as soon as possible,'" he added.
He continued, "When I had about a month left until my discharge, I had a lot of thoughts. When I first enlisted, I was thinking, 'When am I going to go?' and 'When am I going to be discharged?'
When I was promoted from corporal to sergeant, I thought, "As long as it's over, it's fine." I thought, "I'll get it done," but after a month, I started to get scared.
"It was my first time to have such a long break, so I was worried about whether I would be able to adapt," she confessed honestly. "You've accomplished so much, so was the gap difficult for you?"
In response to Jaehyun's question, he answered, "Yes. The military environment itself was like that for me. Personally, every single person's eye looked like a camera.
It was important to me that whenever I did something, someone would perceive it in a certain way or think in a certain way.
So I couldn't rest in peace. I had to live my life according to my ethics," he said, revealing his unknown anguish.
On this day, J-HOPE also shared his true thoughts on BTS being described as "a group that benefits from its own content."
He said, "The reaction overseas was very good. At the time, we just filmed it and showed it as it was. But that's what our overseas fans thought.
"It seems like it was a very interesting backstage experience. I had only seen them on stage, so it must have been funny to see them when they came off stage."
He continued, "The reason we had such a synergistic effect was because the music we make has lyrics that reflect the thoughts that our friends of the same generation often have.
"I think we rode the wave of success really well," he added humbly. Meanwhile, BTS, the group J-HOPE belongs to, is scheduled to start their full-group activities in June after discharging all members.
On this day, J-HOPE said, "We have to prepare carefully. I think that at the same time as Discharge, we will be preparing various activities related to BTS.
Each member has their own passion for music. I really like that. We inspire each other," he said, briefly introducing his future plans.
