On the 21st, tvN's new Saturday and Sunday TV series "Taepoong Company" released photos from the script reading session.
JUNHO plays Kang Tae-poong, who grows from a free-spirited young man from the Orange tribe to a trading company employee who finds himself in the middle of the Korean currency crisis.
He overwhelmed the set with his ripple effect. He expressed the changing emotions from moment to moment in detail, sometimes showing his spirited and sometimes serious side, raising the level of immersion on set.
Kim Min Ha plays Oh Mi Sun, the eldest daughter of K-san, who is responsible for the family's livelihood and dreams of becoming a trading company employee, and portrays delicate emotional lines in detail.
In particular, the Seoul dialect of that era was perfectly reproduced, creating a sense of realism as if 1997 had been brought back to life.
In 1997, Taepoong Trading Co., Ltd. was a trading company with no employees, no money, and nothing to sell due to the Korean currency crisis.
The drama depicts the struggles and growth of Kang Tae-poong, a rookie trading company employee who becomes the president of a stock exchange company. The production team said, "'Tae-poong Trading Company' is a heartwarming story about the lives of ordinary people who endured the Korean currency crisis.
"The series will provide Generation X, who lived through 1997, with memories of their survival, and Generation MZ (Millennials and Generation Z, born between the 1980s and 2000s) with the opportunity to understand and respect their parents' generation."
"I hope that the 'Taepoong spirit' of that era, which overcame crises and moved forward, will reach viewers living today as hope and courage," he added.
"Daepoong Corporation" will premiere in Korea in October.
