KF will be holding a K-BOOK event in Tokyo for two days on November 22nd and 23rd in collaboration with the K-BOOK Promotion Association of Japan.
The K-BOOK Festival will be held in Japan in 2025. The festival will focus on Korean books (K-books), which are gaining popularity in Japan following TV series, movies, and K-POP.
This book festival introduces contemporary Korean literature to Japanese readers who are interested in "K-books" through various events such as discussions with authors, editors, and translators.
This year in particular, there will be a variety of events related to literature and film, including the "100-Year History of Korean Literature Exhibition" and screenings of the literary film "Secret Sunshine" and "Poet of the Sky, Wind and Stars: The Life of Yun Dong-ju."
This year marks the seventh anniversary of the event, and 58 publishers of Korean books in Korea and Japan will set up booths to showcase a variety of works.
We will be selling a wide range of Korean-related books. In addition, we will be selling Korean books that are currently hot topics at over 75 bookstores across Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, so that readers all over Japan can get their hands on them.
A pop-up corner will also be held to introduce Korean books. Park Jung Min, the star of the specially screened film "Poet of the Sky, Wind and Stars: The Life of Yun Dong-ju," will also be participating in the event.
Park Jung Min will be appearing on the festival stage as the representative of the publishing company "Untitled" through interviews and talk events.
Other related events include a Q&A session with artists Choi Eun-young, Baek Slim, Lee Seung-Woo, and Na Tae-ju.
Talk to commemorate the publication of "Learn Korean through the lyrics of 10 BTS Legend Songs" ▲There will be a talk about the secrets behind the creation of author Lee Yuri's everyday tale novel "Broccoli Punch."
All major programs will be streamed live online via the event's official website and YouTube channel.
A KF official said, "Last year, over 3,000 spectators visited the venue, and the number of participants in the event is increasing every year."
"We ask for your interest and support in this event, which aims to widely promote Korean literature in Japanese society and continuously expand literary exchange between Japan and Korea," he said.
