”Queen of Tears” Kwak Dong Yeon, ”I'm not Kim Soo Hyun for no reason”... Group talk: ”I'll make a new one”
Actor Kwak Dong-yeon shared his thoughts on working with director Kim Hee-won and writer Park Ji-woon, as well as Kim Soo-hyun, Kim Ji-won, and Lee Joo-bin.

On the afternoon of April 30th, a round of interviews with Kwak Dong-yeon of tvN drama "Queen of Tears" was held at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

This was Kwak Dong-yeon's second time with both writer Park Ji-woon and director Kim Hee-won, and he had already met many actors before, including Na Yeon-hee, Kim Ji-won, and Kim Soo-hyun. Kwak Dong-yeon, who says he was really lucky because of this, said, "Senior Na Yeon-hee was also in my debut film, 'My Husband Got a Family'. I didn't get to meet screenwriter Park Jee-woong very often, so I heard about him through senior Na Yeon-hee. I thought that the fact that I met the senior big star and the writer again was not a waste of time, and it touched my heart when he said, 'I'm much better than I was then. When the scriptwriter also met me at the reading, he said, 'I've been watching over you for a long time.' He told me that I was like a child."

Kwak Dong-yeon said, "After the shooting of 'Vincenzo' was my starting point as an actor. Working with a director who was full of newness was the main reason I decided to do this film. He gave me a lot of advice on the scenes between Soo-chul and Da-hae, and his kind of direction kept the actors from getting confused. He made it very clear, and it seemed to convey (to the actors who were working with the director for the first time) that there was no difficulty in interacting with the actors who were working with him for the first time."

He also continued to talk about his co-stars. Kwak Dong-yeon said, "Kim Soo-hyun had been my favorite senior actor for a long time, but I became even more of a fan while working with him on 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' and I wanted to work with him again anytime, but after spending more time with him this time, I thought, 'He's not an actor without a reason. I felt like I could smoothly do what I wanted to do without saying anything," he said.

Kim Ji-won and the drama "Fight for My Way" (Kim Ji-won is the ex-boyfriend of Kim Soo-hyun in the drama "Fight for My Way"). 〜Kwak Dong-yeon, who co-starred with Kim Ji-won as her ex-boyfriend in the drama "Fight for My Way", said, "We had a lot of fun filming at the time, but it was only the second or third time we had done it together. We didn't get very close, but I had a great sense of personal internal intimacy, and actor Kim Ji Won thought the same way. I think it was easy and fun to do it," he said.

In an interview Lee Joo-bin recently gave after "Queen of Tears," he described Kwak Dong-yeon as an "acting genius. Kwak Dong-yeon said that he saw this and thought, "Rather, that person is like a genius, and I thought the interview was genius, too," laughing and saying, "There are so many things that actress Joo-bin helped me with. It's really not easy to shoot with a baby, and I actually don't know how to handle children, so I had to step away and watch over them, afraid that I would make them uncomfortable, but Actress Jubin was busy taking care of them all the time on the set, and if I had my head in my hands, I would peek in on them, and she was also very kind with the crew. She was also very kind to the staff. (She was also very kind to the staff. She gave me comfort and helped me relax even when I was nervous," he said, expressing his gratitude.

The actors became friends in this way. When asked if they had made plans to meet again, Kwak Dong-yeon replied, "I have a new KakaoTalk account, but no one invited me. I'm officially creating a new KakaoTalk today. I think I made the invitation group chat too," he said, eliciting laughter.

Kwak Dong-yeon has been active while moving back and forth between "Queen's House" and "Yongdu-ri. Where did he feel more at ease?

The senior members of the Queens' side are all very calm and very funny people. When the Queens were filming, they were constantly laughing, and although it was a different flavor from Yongdo-ri, it was all very easy and good. There was a certain atmosphere that the place gave. When waiting, if at Queens they were standing up straight at the waist, at Yongtou they seemed to be lying down. When we were in Queens, Soochol wanted to be recognized by his mother, father, and grandfather, so he needed tension that could not be relaxed, but in Yongdo-ri, he could take it easy, and in fact, his body seemed to be a little easier," he recalled.
