Actor Wi HaJun hopes that viewers can empathize with Junho. Wi HaJun plays the frontman (Lee Bi) in seasons 1, 2, and 3 of the Netflix series "Squid Game."
In order to find his brother Inho, Junho tried to find the island where the game was taking place with Ki-hoon (played by Lee Jung-jae). After missing Ki-hoon's traces,
In order to save Ki-hoon and meet his brother In-ho again, he uses any means to find the location of the island where the game is being held, but in seasons 2 and 3 he plays a much bigger role than in season 1.
In a recent interview with Herald POP at a cafe in Seogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Wi HaJun said,
He expressed his sadness for Yunho. On this day, he said, "I read the script from the beginning, so I knew what the director intended to do and what message he was trying to convey.
I was grateful to have been able to work with the director. I had no expectations or desires. I didn't think I was going to get any benefits from it. It was a show that was loved so much during season 1 and has allowed me to work up until now.
So I didn't feel any regret or dissatisfaction," he said. "I certainly understand that from the point of view of the viewers. As a fan who likes Junho, I naturally hope that Junho will do something.
"I didn't see any encouraging comments, so I stopped looking at the responses. I feel sorry for Junho, and I think he's a lonely, isolated person. I hope you can empathize with his pain."
"I want you to make memes like that," he said. "It's interesting that they make memes like that," he said, but added, "No matter how hard you struggle, there are many times when there is no hope in life.
"I think JUNHO expressed that kind of emptiness and sense of despair. If people could empathize with that more, I think they would be able to feel JUNHO's sadness. I would be happy if I could give them that kind of comfort," he said emphatically.
I tuned it.
