In episode 12 of the JTBC drama Good Boy (viewership rating: 5.5%), the powerful special team successfully uncovers an unprecedented amount of illegal funds, exposing Ju-yong (Oh Jung-se) to his devilish madness.
In the past, when Joo-young was a customs official, he discovered that the gold watch given to him by smuggler Bong-chan (Son Young-chan) as proof of his membership in the organization was a fake, triggering his “madness button.” He then killed Bong-chan by hitting him on the head with a brick, demanding, “I want the real one now.” Even after losing the massive cash container, Juyong called Dong-ju (Park Bo-gum) and said, “It feels good to be back to those days. I underestimated you too much. I'll push you further into a corner.” Juyong's face was filled with the same maniacal joy he felt when he killed Bon-chan and fulfilled his desires.
Later, a 16-year-old student died after consuming the new illegal drug “Candy” that Juyong had distributed in Inson City. When Dong-ju arrived at the scene, he was conducting interviews to find witnesses who had seen the “throw,” but while his partner Je-hong (played by Te Won-suk) was away on a job, he was brutally attacked by Jong-guk's (played by Jung Man-sik) gang. Jong, who had been Dong-ju's boxing coach in the past, knew that he suffered from punch drunkenness and mercilessly unleashed punches on him, taking advantage of this. In the end, Dong-ju lost consciousness, his body covered in injuries.
All of this was part of Juyoung's scheme to trap Dong-ju. After receiving an email stating that the athlete loan approved by Jong, a member of the Sports Association, had been denied, Je-hong stepped away, and during that time, Jong assaulted Dong-ju, who was alone. Juyong forcibly injected Dong-ju, who was brought in in a horrific state, with a lethal dose of drugs while coldly stating, “It's been fun so far. Die comfortably.”
Dong-ju, pushed to the brink by the drugs and beatings, alternated between hallucinations and unconsciousness, but managed to hold on until the very end. “The Devil” (Lee Ho-jung), who had begun to harbor resentment toward Juyoung for breaking the contract condition of not selling candy to children and women, had secretly given him an antidote, whispering, “Hold on for just 10 minutes.” Dong-ju dramatically regained his sanity and, after struggling, managed to escape from the container where he had been imprisoned.
However, Dong-ju's blood-soaked figure wielding a weapon was broadcast live in the middle of a crowded city, and he was quickly suspected of being a drug-induced weapon-wielding suspect, leading to a nationwide manhunt. Furthermore, Juyong placed a massive bounty on Dong-ju and instructed Chief Cho (Kim Un-soo) of the Police Headquarters, while wearing a badge watch, to “do nothing.” The reason the police did not intervene, despite the search for Dong-ju by gangsters from Inson City to local yakuza, was because of this.
Dong-ju managed to hide in the parking lot of Jung-hyun's (Lee Sang-yi) office building. Jung-hyun, who had been tracking Dong-ju's movements via CCTV and predicted he was at his home, fortunately discovered him. Dong-ju's condition worsened, but with both Joo-young and the police simultaneously pursuing him, going to the hospital was impossible. John Hyun struck a deal with his older brother, Prosecutor Sok Hyun (Kim So Gyun). In exchange for relinquishing all shares in the family company and abandoning his assets, he secured a temporary hideout and medical treatment. The elite special team that gathered there felt both pity and anger upon seeing Dong Ju, who was badly injured.
