＜Women's Golf＞The 16th KLPGA Tournament, High1 Resort Women's Open, begins

The 16th tournament of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) season, the High1 Resort Women's Open 2025 (total prize money of 1 billion won/approximately 106.6 million yen, winner's prize of 100 million yen)
The tournament, which will be held for four days from July 10 to 13, will be held at the High1 Country Club in Jeongseon County, Gangwon Province.
Since its establishment in 2009, the tournament has been hosting great matches every year, entertaining golf fans. Starting with the first champion, Seo Hee-kyung (39), Ryu SoYeon (35
), Anh SiNae (34), Jang HaNa (33), Lee Jeong Eun (29), Bae Seon Woo (31), and other representative Korean female professional golfers have been on the list of past champions.
A total of 108 players are expected to take part in the tournament, which is being hosted by High1 Resort and managed by the KLPGA, and fierce competition is expected. Defending champion Go Ji-woo (2
2) will be challenging for the second consecutive victory and the first ever two wins in a season. Ko Ji-woo said, "I still have good memories of last year, but I'm grateful just to be able to stand here again.
I'm feeling confident after my victory two weeks ago. I want to carry this good luck and momentum into this tournament, and rather than feeling the pressure of defending my title, I'm thinking about last year's good momentum and focusing on my own.
"I want to concentrate on playing and enjoy myself," she said. Park Hae-jun (22), who won her first championship trophy at the Lotte Open last week, is aiming for a second consecutive victory.
"I'm happy to have the opportunity to win my first title and challenge for a second consecutive victory," said Yoon. "My shots in the second and third rounds last week were really good, but I'm not feeling so good right now."
I'm planning to get back in shape before the tournament starts. My first goal is to finish in the top ten, and if I get the chance, I'll try to win," he said confidently.
Lee Ye Won (22) is also determined to try to achieve her fourth win of the season.
Yoo Hyun-jo (20), a former member of the 2024 Rookie of the Year award, who made it through the selection process and has been named in the top ten nine times, is the top player in average hits, and will be competing to put together the final piece of the puzzle: winning the championship.
Lee Jeong Eun, the 2017 champion, will also be competing. After winning six tournaments in 2017 and 2018 alone and winning the money title for two consecutive years, she moved to the LPGA.
Lee Jeong Eun, who is about to participate in the KLPGA Tour for the first time in a long time, said, "It's been a long time since I last played in the KLPGA.
"I feel nervous and excited when I think about meeting my fans while playing. I have fond memories of this course, so I will play with confidence," he said. "High1 Country Club requires accuracy.
"I think it's a difficult course, but I believe I can achieve good results if I can utilize what I've prepared and focus on the process during the competition. I hope it's a competition where I can gain confidence."
