BTS' JUNG KOOK has set a new record for the fastest and first time in Asia with "GOLDEN," shining a light on his global popularity.
KOOK's first solo album "GOLDEN", released in November 2023, recently debuted on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
"GOLDEN" is the first Asian solo artist to reach 5.8 billion streams on Spotify.
It also set a new record as the fastest studio album by an Asian artist to reach 5.8 billion streams.
"GOLDEN" continues to be a long-running hit, with daily streaming plays increasing to more than 4.7 million.
"GOLDEN" is the latest album from the group that has had multiple songs streamed 900 million times on Spotify, including "Seven" and "Standing Next to You."
He also set a new record as the first Asian artist to record a studio album with a single "3D" ("GOLDEN"). All tracks on the "GOLDEN" album have been streamed over 100 million times.
Two of his songs, "Seven" and "Standing Next to You," have been streamed 1.2 billion times.
"Seven," recorded in the "GOLDEN" album, is the first and fastest song by an Asian singer to reach 2.441 billion yen.

The album has remained on the chart for 88 weeks, the longest period of time for an album by an Asian solo artist, demonstrating its overwhelming strength.
